And so it all begins …
It is about 11:30am on a Tuesday, cloudy morning in Cape Town. The sun, trying its very best to shine through the clouds with the odd ray coming through. We got back from our gynae about an 1 hour and a half ago with the news that we are going to be parents tomorrow – or perhaps today, if something happens prior to tomorrow. But one thing is for certain, is that our baby boy is coming!
For the past few days I’ve been on standby, jumping up from my desk each time Bridgitte calls, thinking that she is going into labour or her water has broken, but Bridgitte knew that he was going to be arriving into this world right on the very l
ast day and today, her suspecions were confirmed.
With 3cm dilated as I write this post and with contractions lasting around 30 seconds to a minute dawning on her at odd times, her body is getting ready to deliver our little boy – not to mention that he is wriggling and kicking with the intension that he wants to come out. He wants to climb onto that spaceship that takes him to another planet. A planet called Earth where his home is going to be for the rest of his life.
As parents to be, it is difficult to gauge in the reality that he is actually coming. But we are prepared for this change in our life from tomorrow onwards. This is truly, a beautiful thing.
We have to arrive at Milnerton Medi-Clinic at 6am tomorrow morning and make our way to the maturnity ward and that is where our day will begin. This has been a few years in the making and waiting and it is going to be a great day indeed.
So, watch this space, keep your eyes on the updates as we prepare ourselves for parenthood.

You go guys! Good luck! I’ll be thinking of you, our prayers are with you!
Hi, Congratulations on the birth of your son. He is beautiful. I have been following your blog after I googled Vincent Palloti FC. I have enjoyed every moment of your site and now I look even more forward to the arrival of our son in December. Thank you so much.
