Ohhh, the life!
I personally think that Labradors are the best dogs in the world. I am a real sucker for cute little Labrador puppies, even if they appear on Baby Soft toilet paper commercials.
And yes, it comes at no surprise that we have 2 of our own. Champers, 5 1/2 years now and Candy who is 5 years – both such a huge part of the family!
Here they are, enjoying the life in lap and luxary as best they know how. Champers staring from the corner of her eye, lying on daddy’s side of the bed with Candy, getting her beauty sleep dreaming of birds and candy coasted chocolate fat lips while spread along the bottom half of mommy’s side of the bed. Did this happen on purpose for the sole purpose of this photo? Yeah, right!
Although having the dogs on the bed is not something we encourage, or should I rather say, I encourage, for the better half, Bridgitte finds it so difficult to say no to those cute little doggie, labrador faces and happy smiles. Ja, ja, don’t think for a second that we’ll let our guard down when our baby boy arrives.
Then, there is the unexpected. In the winter time, the dogs sleep inside and beware if we don’t put chairs on the couches because believe me, Candy and Champers will take advantage of the conforts of our Corricraft couches – yes, their dog beds are comfortable and believe me, if they weren’t, they would not of gotten the paw of approval by these two snobby labs. But when the opportunity arises and mommy and daddy aren’t looking, little miss muffit here will gladly endevour her comforts for an afternoon nap on the couch in front of the TV? CANDY OFF !!!
We love our dogs and they bring such a huge light in our lives. They provide such joy to us and I cannot imagine not having them around. It is going to be interesting to introduce them to our baby in August. Champers with her gentle nature will be a perfect fit, but Candy, might stalk the nursery for the first few weeks. This is going to be an adventure of note.
