A pram for all seasons
Today we decided to do some pram fact finding. Bridgitte picked up a copy of Living and Loving, which is a pregnancy / baby magazine here in SA. Inside, she paged through the included Edgars Baby catalogue.
I grabbed it and read through some of the specs for the prams they have on offer. I got to the Jeep Baby section. First of all, I was amazed at their pricing compared to other brands. Very competitive indeed and here I thought that they are going to cost over R4,000 or so. But one pram caught my eye and one for the reason only a geek would understand. It was the Grand Cherokee Ltd. Besides all the usual goodies, it also comes with “music on the move”. That includes a built-in amp and speakers with a mini jack so that you can plug your iPod into it. How sweet is that? So while you’re strolling in the mall, put on some soft classical music to keep your baby calm. Now that shouts geek to me and I LOVE IT !! Now a pram with built-in WIFI perhaps?
We decided to head to Canal Walk and check out some prams and we saw this one there too. Really impressive indeed and the price is good too. We played with other prams too and believe me, this is going to be a difficult decision to take on which one to get. They all have everything we need.
Our feature list:
- Easy to fold away, one hand fold away system.
- Cup holders (for my beer, um, I mean, bottles, dummies, etc)
- Safety – seatbelt, etc so baby does not decide to hit the road
- Storage area under the pram for baby goodies.
- Brakes, so that the pram doesn’t roll away while trying to pack the groceries into the boot.
- The baby’s head must be covered, so adjustable hood. Don’t want it to get sun burnst like his dad.
- Adjustable backrest to 180′ (flat) so that he can hae a nice nap.
And I think that is that, but then, most prams have these features. But we visited Babies R Us as well and their prices are pretty good. 
Bridgitte is doing fine. Her belly is showing nicely now and at just ovr 17 weeks, our next scan is only about 3 weeks away. I hope to put some photos up very soon. Only thing is that she is running out of clothes, not much is fitting too well.
